Father’s Day celebrates the most beautiful gift of all: our family. Let me tell you a little bit about this wonderful celebration in Italy.
If you love your handmade Italian confectionery Lavolio, chances are you are a foodie*.
So, as a foodie, not only do you enjoy your luxury artisan-made chocolates, such as the ones from your favourite London boutique shop Lavolio – 😉 😉 – but you also enjoy everything that comes with being a foodie, like trying a new restaurant or a recipe, as well as food markets and dinner parties.
With the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince Harry and Miss Megan Markle finally happening tomorrow – who’s going to be watching it, by the way? – I have found myself thinking of my own wedding which happened a few months ago.
As an Italian, born and bred (although a Londoner too, particularly since having my own luxury chocolate business and now Boutique Confectionery in Parsons Green), I went back to the South of Italy for my own marriage.
Chocolate has always been an enormous passion of mine. Ever since I was a young child in Italy, I remember chocolate as a favourite.
And I love it in all its glorious forms and shapes. Especially working with it as a liquid, paste, or block.
It’s this undying desire for chocolate that has made me create and work so tirelessly to get my luxury confectionery boutique shop Lavolio to where it is today; available at such places as Fortnum & Mason, Partridges, Ocado and Amazon. Among many others!
We’ve had a couple of warm sunny days in beautiful London, which indicates that my favourite season is here. Welcome to (a hopefully long lasting) Spring.
For me, spring is a time of renewal, a time where each flower and bloom reminds me of starting over.
So lately, I’ve found myself thinking of when I started this journey.
The Royal wedding is fast approaching.
Come May 19th, 2018, HRH Prince Henry of Wales KCVO, the fifth Royal family member in line of succession to the British throne will marry Ms Meghan Markle, the American actress and humanitarian.
I am happy to finally share with you the launch of a limited edition Lavolio collection, to Commemorate the Marriage of HRH Prince Harry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle, on the 19th May 2018.
Presenting the Chelsea Bloom Collection for you and the joyous couple.
One thing about Italy that you might not know is that Easter is the second most important holiday of all, just after Christmas.
As a largely Christian country, and primarily Catholic, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus is a tradition certainly not to be missed.
I have been an inhabitant of London for many years now. And I honestly love it!
Having said that, I’m never too far away in my thoughts from my beloved Italy, where I was born and bred.
I catch myself remembering the beautiful sights or the amazing food – in particular, the delicious Italian sweets and Italian treats – when I’m in any of the endless Italian restaurants in London (Italian food in London is certainly everywhere!), or when I’m on the phone, talking to my family or to my mamma!
Something I do all the time…
