5 Superfood Recipes You Have To Try!

We know it may be hard to keep your hands off our super delicious Lavolio confectionery, but it is also important to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

Here are five of Lavolio’s favourite superfood recipes which are not only filled with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants but are also super easy to prepare. Give yourself a serious health boost and enjoy!

Breakfast

We all know that eggs are a great source of protein and the number of ways to cook them is what makes them so great! Well here is a new and fun way to cook your eggs which is also packed full with vitamins.

Ingredients: (serves 6)
4 eggs
3 bell peppers (pick any colours)
rapeseed oil
chilli flakes
salt & pepper

Recipe:
Wash and cut the bell peppers in half, removing the seeds and white parts.
Heat a nonstick pan with some rapeseed oil and fry the rings on both sides until they turn soft and a bit brown.
Crack open the egg carefully in the center and fry until the bottom is crisp.
Add salt, pepper & spices on top and serve right away! Yum!
Kale, Almond, Banana Smoothie With Chia Seeds

We LOVE smoothies! Perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or as a mid-morning snack which will leave you feeling energised. There are endless recipes to choose from but we think this one is definitely worth trying!

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups kale
1 cup almond or rice milk
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 ripe banana

DIRECTIONS: Super simple: blitz in your blender until smooth. If you don’t have a high-powered blender, pour the smoothie over a sieve into a bowl, and then transfer your drink to your favorite tumblr. Drink immediately.

Lunch:

Spinach, avocado & kiwi salad

A super easy recipe which is just what you want for a light lunch when the sun is out.

Ingredients
1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
1 -2 kiwi fruit, peeled, and cut into cubes
50g baby spinach
raisins

Dinner:

Salmon with Almonds and Asparagus

Salmon and asparagus are the perfect duo, and are full with super nutrients and minerals which will boost your spirits. A simple and filling recipe - this one is no brainer!
Ingredients (Serves 2)
200g piece of salmon, skin on
1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
Salt/Pepper
2 tablespoon olive oil
12 pieces of asparagus
2 tablespoons flaked almonds
1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes
wedges of lemon

Instructions
Place a pan over a medium to high heat. Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of the oil over the fish, add the parsley and a grind of salt and pepper. Massage the oil and parsley over the fish and place skin side down on the grill pan.
Cook for 5 minutes, and turn and cook for a further 2 minutes. Remove from pan and cover with foil to keep warm.
Wipe the pan out and add a tablespoon of oil to heat up.
Toss in the asparagus stalks a let them sizzle for 30-40 seconds charring and going brown.
Add in the garlic and chilli flakes and toss the asparagus through it.
Continue to cook for a further 1 minute until the asparagus is slightly tender.
Toss the flaked almonds through the asparagus and cook for another 30 seconds to brown the almonds slightly.
Remove the asparagus and almonds from the pan and divide between two plates.
Divide the piece of salmon into small chunks and place on top of the asparagus. Finish off with the remaining olive oil, squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Pistachios Nuts

1/2 Cup Hazelnuts, Whole
1/2 Cup Walnuts, Halved
1/2 Cup Pecans, Whole
1/2 Cup Goji Berries
1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries
1/2 Cup Dried Blueberries
1/2 Cup Raisins
