If you love your handmade Italian confectionery Lavolio, chances are you are a foodie*.
So, as a foodie, not only do you enjoy your luxury artisan-made chocolates, such as the ones from your favourite London boutique shop Lavolio - ???? ???? - but you also enjoy everything that comes with being a foodie, like trying a new restaurant or a recipe, as well as food markets and dinner parties.
In today’s blog I decided to share with you a little bit about what I consider to be the most important elements of a perfect dinner party.
The soundtrack
I believe it is important to keep the event’s soundtrack at the right volume. You don’t want it drowning the conversation but you still want the music to be present.
And the tempo of your playlist is also important as it helps to keep the conversation flowing.
In that case, I’d go with artists like Miles Davis or Norah Jones, and for a more modern feel, some Ed Sheeran.
It’s all in the details
I love being creative here, and the “look” of your event is very important, as it helps create the right atmosphere. A bit of planning goes a long way.
From using the right tableware and crockery, making sure it all sits well with the theme of the night, to setting up the ideal centrepiece. I find that Pinterest is a great place to go for ideas and suggestions.
And this is when you really have a chance to inject your own personality to the get together, making the evening just perfect. From sprinkling the table with confetti, to selecting the right cocktail napkins and perhaps getting quirky with personalised place names.
The wine
I’m not really a wine expert but I can Google really well! There’s plenty of resources out there to help you find the perfect wines for any meal and occasion, as well as budget.
The cheese
A key element to any sophisticated dinner party, I find that a good trick is to always include a couple of unusual condiments and some posh biscuits. As well as some really good quality cheese. Obviously.
In that case, avoid supermarket cheese boards. And if you’re running low on ideas, Google is yet again a good option. If not, how about popping into your favourite deli and asking what they recommend?
The dessert
Needless to say, that is, as far as I’m concerned, the most important item of all the best dinner parties!
By now I’m sure you know what I’m going to say.
